Asthma in CT's cities
Asthma plagues 20% of Hartford residents, a rate twice the national average. CCEJ believes toxic emissions from local incinerators may be to blame and has been educating the community of how to face the health problem.

Urban Recycling
Hartford households recycle only about 5% of their waste. Much of the rest gets burned in local trash-to-energy plants, increasing air toxins linked to diseases like asthma, cancer, and diabetes. CCEJ is taking action to change that outcome.
