Clean Energy, Not Natural Gas, to Replace the Bridgeport Coal Plant
Working with parnters Connecticut Fund for the Environment and Toxics Action Center, CCEJ is attempting to close
down the coal plant in Bridgeport, CT, the last coal plant in our state. Some have argued to replace the plant
with a natural gas facility. CCEJ feels however natural gas is as nearly as bad for environment and
public health as coal.

Flame Retardants Fail to Prevent Fire But Endanger Health
An investigative report by the Chicago Tribune reveals that flame retardants, the chemicals
designed to prevent fire in our pillows, beds, toys, and furniture, do not work as promised and in fact may be a factor behind many chronic diseases.
